It has been much too long since my last post...the reason most likely is the new job! For those of you that don't know, I accepted a job at the Sorrento Centre, an Anglican Retreat and Conference Centre in April and have been busy ever since! It is less than 10 minutes door to door ...there has been lots of learning, and although I thoroughly enjoyed my time off, I was starting to panic that I would not find a job and now I am thinking...hmmm, what was the rush...although timing is everything and with the economy as it is, I was not about to be picky. I have now been at the Centre for almost 6 months and have learned alot, I very much like the people that I work with, it is a much different culture than what I was used to and the setting is very peaceful...
Sherise spent a fair amount of her summer vacat
nWe also had our first experience of a forest fire that was about 5-6 kms. from our home; one of which we could watch daily from our front
Meanwhile, Blaine and I are into a routine and enjoy my days off doing many things...just last weekend we went for a drive to Kelowna and enjoyed some sights and also took a drive up to Mission Hill Estate Winery....it is absolutely beautiful there...its too bad that we forgot the camera!...Sherise and I enjoyed a spectacular lunch and a glass of ice wine last Mother's Day there...it is a spot to put on your "must see" list....
Tonight, Blaine and I had a "Dinner and a Movie" night, supper at BP's in Salmon Arm and off to the theatre to see "Love Happens", I can still get him to enjoy a good chick flick with me! ...pretty good show, I would give it 4 out of 5.
Alot has happened in the 6 month break that I took from Blogging....I will slowly bring you up to speed...two things, we had a hot tub installed in July and also bought a boat...it is hard to live within minutes of the Shuswap Lake and not have a boat...we managed to get out afew times boating, but certainly plan to get out more next year...and the hot tub has been especially nice the last couple of weeks as the weather has cooled off at night and it is so relaxing at the end of the day or first thing in the morning to enjoy sitting back in the tub and enjoy the scenery.
I am over the top excited about my little girl coming for Thanksgiving along with Gary, Norene and Jillian...I am also planning a trip back to Edmonton in November ...I will keep you posted on the dates...I am looking forward to helping Sherise out in her classroom and meeting all of her students...and of course spending time with family and friends...
Well off to bed I go, I am on my weekend shift and we have 90 Woodcarvers coming in tomorrow to the Centre for a week of whittling...
Chat with you tomorrow,
Sandra

ReplyDeleteYou're probably saving the string bikini for the boat and with that I won't comment on the hot tub.
Talk to you soon.
Hi Sandy, glad to hear all is well.
